AIR’s Information Technology (IT) team is seeking an experienced IT Networking & Security Engineer II to join its innovative group.  This position reports to the Director of IT Infrastructure Operations.  In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Institution’s networks, both on premises and in the cloud. The position is remote, with limited travel requirements.

 

On a given day you may be leading troubleshooting efforts around branch office wireless performance with junior network engineers or working with senior engineers to improve the design of internal Azure networks.  If you are a curious, driven engineer with great attention to detail and a desire to work as part of a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic team, then this is the role for you

The responsibilities for the position include:

  • Install, configure, manage, and support network switches, routers, access points, and firewalls.
  • Configure and support Azure networking infrastructure supporting hosting and complex workloads across multiple regions.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage SD-WAN and VPN infrastructure.
  • Review existing configuration of physical and cloud network infrastructure and suggest and implement improvements.
  • Utilize monitoring tools and applications to proactively identify and resolve network issues.
  • Interface with vendors and service providers to resolve outages and other technical problems.
  • Maintain currency with new vendor hardware and software solutions, as well as applicable functionality updates and security fixes.
  • Develop and/or maintain network diagrams and documentation.
  • Provide mentorship to junior network engineers.


Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
  • At least 5 years of substantial experience in design, deployment, and support of physical network infrastructure.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in configuring and troubleshooting Azure network infrastructure.
  • Experience with multisite SD-WAN implementations.
  • The candidate should be able to obtain a Level 6C Security clearance (Public Trust Position) if required.
  • Operational experience with NGFW technology.

 Skills:

  • Effective communicator with demonstrated ability to communicate with and understand the needs of both technical and non-technical internal and external clients. Additionally, effectively collaborate in a virtual, cross-functional diverse team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently, and collaboratively as needed.
  • Adept in a fast-paced environment to manage multiple concurrent deliveries.
  • Thorough understanding of a variety of networking concepts and technologies, such as switching and routing, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, VOIP, and QOS.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with a focus on details.

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

 AIR’s Total Rewards Program , is designed to reward our staff competitively and motivate them to achieve our critical mission. This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $110,000 to $130,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the annual salary range for candidates that are based in the United States.
