Job Description

The Herberger Institute for the Design and the Arts (HIDA) is seeking an IT Inventory Manager to lead the inventory efforts of Herberger Institute Information Technology. The IT Inventory Manager will be responsible for physically inventorying items, inventory reconciliation, collaborating with the HIDA Finance department with the receiving of newly purchased items, the salvaging of surplus equipment, creating policies for inventory items and the documentation/resources required to implement those policies.

Essential Duties

  • Ensure the accuracy of asset information in JAMF and Cireson databases. 
  • Provide physical inventory of items in Herberger Institute buildings across multiple campuses. 
  • Receive HIDA IT purchases, and complete the required documentation for HIDA Finance. 
  • Work with ASU surplus to ensure that items are properly decommissioned. 
  • Create documentation for staff to utilize for ensuring assets are properly tracked.
Days and Schedule:

  Part-time, 16 hours per week, scheduled during regular business hours (8am-5pm/Monday-Friday); with the ability to work flexible shifts to support events, students and faculty when needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Experience with inventory management 
  • Experience with Spreadsheet Software (Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, etc.) 
  • Experience creating instructional materials  
  • Experience creating procedural forms 
  • Experience providing computer/technology support 
  • Experience with purchasing in a professional environment 
  • Evidence of effective verbal and written communication skills 

Working Environment

  • Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting subject to extended periods of sitting, keyboarding and manipulating a computer mouse.
  • Regular activities require ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolutions of conflicts.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
  • Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to computer workstation / laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, copier, and telephone.
