Position Summary
The IT Infrastructure Project Manager leads and coordinates projects related to IT infrastructure platforms and systems. This position strategically plans and coordinates projects to create synergies between technical and functional development teams. The IT Infrastructure Project Manager upholds project timelines, fiscal plans, and project deliverables.

Essential Functions
- Works on multiple projects as a project leader or as the subject matter expert
- Works on projects or issues of high complexity that require in-depth knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments
- Responsible for the coordination of all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects
- Documents project scope, project operating structure, controls, governance, roles, and responsibilities through partnering with OIT staff, university customers, vendors, and other campus partners
- Controls project scope and timeline through established change order process
- Works with internal OIT leaders, solution vendors, external consultants, and key stakeholders to solicit guidance and ensure organizational alignment
- Develops detailed work plan, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
- Assembles and manages the technology project, ensuring the efficient use of human, technical, and other resources
- Conducts project meetings, tracks and analyzes project status
- Monitors and evaluates risks, and identifies risk mitigation strategies, and escalates for leadership attention as necessary
- Provides regular budget and ETC (dollars/hours) project updates; ensures progress aligns with milestones
- Ensures that OIT staff and their partners are part of the planning process and have opportunity to provide input and feedback throughout the project lifecycle
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Preferred License/Certification
- PMP (Project Management Professional), ITIL V3, and/or Agile
- Relevant technical certifications are a plus
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with general infrastructure concepts and terminology relating to wired/wireless network connectivity, email and storage platforms, databases, disaster recovery, and identity and access management
- Experience supervising project teams, overseeing organization-wide rollouts, communicating with a wide variety of stakeholders, and working in a team environment. Proven experience successfully deploying new technology with minimal end-user disruption
- Possible types of projects or technologies:
- Design and delivery of email and calendar migration from other platforms to MS365 Exchange Online/Google Workspace Gmail
- Projects related to cybersecurity technologies that support an institutional information security program
- Integration with identity and access management technologies
- Network, data center upgrades and modernization
- Collaboration platforms, such as MS Office 365, Zoom, Box, Confluence, SharePoint/Teams, and Google Workspace
- Deployment of cloud infrastructure, eg AWS, GCP, Azure
- Experience with project management software such as MS Project and/or Monday.com

- Experience leading technology vendor selection, coordinating vendor activities, and in vendor relationship management.
- Ability to control scope, develop project plans, estimate resource requirements, and analyze budgets.
