Manages the day-to-day technical, functional and application guidance and support to personnel in the Office of the Controller. Maintains the hardware, software, networking,
workstations and applications in order to meet the daily needs of users across a wide variety of technology including desktops, laptops, tablets and printers.

  • Manages the day-to-day technical, functional and application guidance and support to the personnel in the Office of the Controller.
  • Responsible for the troubleshooting of hardware and software issues, as well as the installation, configuration and maintenance of equipment (ie. desktops, laptops, peripherals). Maintains familiarity with installed software standards and procedures.
  • Serves as the liaison between the Office of the Controller and the Division of Information Technology (DoIT). Works with DoIT staff as appropriate to determine and resolve problems received from clients beyond the desktop environment.
  • Monitors new developments in information technology and makes recommendations for software and hardware upgrades and services.
  • Serves as the point of contact for ordering and receiving of equipment. Ensures departmental equipment purchases are in compliance with established policies and procedures. Updates and maintains the asset inventory database.
  • Manages the Active Directory environment for the Office of the Controller and ensures security of information assets.
  • Responsible for the preparation and timely dissemination of the departmental newsletter.
  • Updates and maintains the Office of the Controller website, as well as internal listservs and distribution groups.
  • Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology field and four (4) years of experience in in the field.
  • Proficient in the use of Wordpress and HTML.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows, Office Suite and Sharepoint.
  • Proficient with Apple products (i.e. iPads, Mac books).
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Must have good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in Higher Education is a plus.
