Job Description: | The Department of Biology in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences currently seeks an IT Generalist II. This position will configure and install networked computers and ensure the proper operation of computer hardware and software. This role involves front-line desktop support, assisting faculty and staff with a variety of operating systems including Windows, Mac OS-X, and Linux. The IT Generalist II advises on technology purchases, directs users to technology resources on campus, and makes technology recommendations for the department. This position liaises with the central IT department and attends regular meetings to stay updated on college and campus initiatives. As the largest college on campus, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is charged with teaching the university’s core curriculum. Expected Salary: |
The salary range is $60,000 - $75,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and the compensation includes a full benefits package. Minimum Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. |

Preferred Qualifications: | • Experience supporting technology for faculty, staff, and students. • Knowledge of Windows and Mac OS-X operating systems. • Knowledge of Windows-based software packages (Office, Outlook, SAS, SPSS). • Knowledge of UNIX/LINUX client operating systems (preferred, but not required). • Strong communication and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. |
