The Systems Security Engineer is responsible for identifying, developing, implementing, and supporting security technology and methodology. Responsibilities will include anti-virus management, whole disk encryption management, mobile device management, providing insights to endpoint security issues, and other security related issues in relation to workstation or mobile endpoints. This will include performing work with other members of IT Enterprise Workstation Technology, IT Enterprise Systems, IT Enterprise Platforms, IT Systems Development, IT Architecture, and the IT Security Office. This position will report to the Director of Support Services.
This position will consist of a hybrid of on-site work and telework as deemed by supervisor.
50% - Act as IT security subject matter expert for the IT Workstation Technology and Workstation Support groups. Liaise with the IT Security Office along with the Director of Support Services to provide guidance, insight, and prioritization of IT security initiatives. Identify, develop, and document mitigations for vulnerable systems and software supported by KU IT Workstation Technologies and Workstation Support.
15% - In collaboration with the IT Security Office, develop, document, and maintain system security standards for KU IT supported workstations and mobile devices
15% - Administer, design and support endpoint security applications including antivirus/antimalware, whole disk encryption, and vulnerability scanning tools.
10% - Stay abreast of current IT security threats, risks, and trends that impact KU IT supported workstations and mobile devices.
5% - Act as point of contact for IT security incidents involving KU IT supported workstations and mobile devices.
5% - Other duties as assigned
