Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
To provide efficient and effective information technology support for the College of Computer,
Mathematical, & Natural Sciences. The IT Coordinator oversees the administration of the
College of Computer, Mathematical, and Natural Sciences hardware and software. This includes
desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals, and A/V equipment. They are responsible for
developing the specifications for the hardware, developing and implementing equipment setup,
troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with campus colleagues to resolve problems and
questions raised by the college’s staff regarding CMNS and UMD IT resources.
Minimum Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s degree required. 
2+ years experience in IT
Knowledge of and experience supporting Microsoft Windows PCs, Apple computer and devices
in a network environment.
Experience supporting Mac OS; knowledge of Jamf
Ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and customer service skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferences:
Experience supporting A/V systems and remote communication software (such as Zoom)
Experience using Microsoft Active Directory and MECM
Experience supporting IT in the context of higher education

Physical Demands
Ability to lift and transport computer equipment up to 50 lbs. Ability to sit and stand for long
periods. Ability to assemble and disassemble equipment components with manual dexterity.
Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, color
vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
