Position Focus:

Provide technical planning and computer support for faculty, staff, and students in multi-platform (Windows, Mac, and Linux (if applicable)) and computationally intensive environments. Coordinate service with IT professionals from other units. Prepare documentation (procedural, planning, team information, end user) to support functions specific to departments.  Work closely with vendors and technical owners of applications to securely plan, deploy, and troubleshoot new or upgraded functions. Maintain list of key support contacts for each non-standard software or hardware device. Coordinate with departments during moves, renovation projects, and required upgrades to ensure technology interruptions are minimal.


Essential Duties

1. Responsible for the planning and delivery of customer support services including installation, consultation, troubleshooting, user assistance, and training.2. Resolve routine to moderately complex end-user issues in a timely manner through established protocol and troubleshooting; escalate as necessary.3. Provide guidance and explain policies and procedures to end-users.4. Install and configure software for network connectivity, backups, server access, etc. on user systems.


Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience or equivalent education and experience.

Required Skill/Ability 3:

Working knowledge of information technology applications, processes, software, and equipment.
