Job Summary 

The IT Business Systems Analyst supports the University’s efforts to maintain and enhance the core enterprise functions in both efficiency and effectiveness by applying technological and business practice solutions; acts as the functional expert in the IT systems used to support the business processes for one or more functional units within the University which requires extensive knowledge in one or more modules of the University’s Enterprise Systems (eg. Banner) and/or surrounding third party applications; understands the relationship and integration between all University systems; provides overall management, direction, needs/requirement analysis, and report generation for internal and external clients; oversees and provides training of the functional aspects of the University’s Enterprise Systems and third party applications for new users; acts as the lead functional liaison between the technical experts within CES and the clients they support; acts as the primary operational support for their clients; and takes project management leadership on specific projects and coordinate the project and the team.

Essential Functions 

  • Support application software for the administrative ERP/Third Party software and surrounding related systems.
  • Assist with module security planning, management, testing, software defect management, high-level module functional support, process oversight, business process review and scheduling. Participate in the selection and implementation of purchased and in-house developed applications, assisting in developing integration between systems and testing applications.
  • Ensure institutional data is readily available to senior administrators, managers, and regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. Act as liaison between vendors, financial institutions, government agencies, and University departments for electronic data transmissions, uploads, and interfaces to and from the University’s Enterprise System (Banner) and/or third party applications.
  • Monitor ticketing queue requests for end user needs.
  • Use creative problem solving techniques to develop ad-hoc system reports.
  • Manage projects, people, and tasks to ensure goals and objectives are completed on time.
  • Work closely with database administrators, software development engineers, and other technical people to maintain systems, facilitate upgrades, and act as the liaison between the end-user and technical support groups.
  • Work collaboratively with administrative offices to define, develop, and document office and inter-office policies and procedures.
  • Carry out needs assessments, system integrations, design support, and general change management support.
  • Support users in the creation of reports from transactional databases and data marts including data analysis using the university’s designated reporting tools.

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or Equivalent  
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience working with administrative support systems.
  • At least 3 years of experience working with administrative support systems for higher education.
  • Extensive experience with Administrative Systems
  • Extensive knowledge of University business processes and functions.
  • Extensive understanding on relational database structures and relational database-reporting tools.
  • Experience in client/server administrative application structures and environment.

  • Experience with the Oracle Hyperion Interactive Reporting System and/or Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (Oracle Analytics Server)

  • Experience with Web TMA systems
  • Experience with Event Management systems
  • Experience with AIMS systems
  • Experience with Innosoft Campus Recreation systems
  • Experience with CCURE/Public Safety/Building Access systems

  • Experience with PL/SQL

Additional Information 

This position is classified as Exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 62,630.00 to $ $ 93,950.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
