All About You


JOB SUMMARY  :


 


Under general supervision, provides audio/visual support for university systems; installs and configures new AV software, hardware and solutions, provides guidance on technology; reviews, prioritizes, documents, and actively resolves customer service requests on-site, in person and via telephone; resolves problems involving the use of diagnostic tools, troubleshooting and problem-solving methodologies; travels locally to all locations where SLU employees are present. Acts as a subject matter expert to all SLU audio visual equipment; provides after-hours support as determined by business needs.   


 


PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Accepts escalations and consultation requests from the IT Service Desk and Zone Technicians for audio/visual technology. 

  • Performs on-site assessment of classroom and conference room audio/visual technology issues. 

  • Documents all customer contact during the service request problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken up to final resolution. 

  • Performs post-resolution follow-ups to service requests.  Verify that customer is aware of resolution. 

  • Follows a planned professional development program; maintains continual growth in professional skills. 

  • Offers alternative solutions where appropriate with the objective of maintain a positive customer relationship. 

  • Organizes ideas and communicate verbal messages appropriate to listeners and situations. 

  • Stays current with system information, changes and updates. 

  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned. 


 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :


  • Strong troubleshooting skills and desire to resolve issues 

  • Experience with Crestron, Toolbox and Simpl, Biamp, QSC, Shure, etc 


  • Cloud based platform management such as Fusion and X2O signage content 

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills 

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills 

  • Knowledge of customer service principles and practices 

  • Strong documentation skills 

  • Ability to multi-task and work under high pressure situations 

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and a willingness to co-operate with others and work to the greater good 

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities 

  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language 

  • Highly self-motivated and directed 

  • Keen attention to detail 


 


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Field or related field; or three to four (3-4) years related work experience. Combination of education and experience will be considered.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  


  • Preferred certifications include CTS, CTS-I, Crestron and/or Biamp.
