Description
This position provides senior-level consultation, development, and support for the UT Martin Distance Learning system comprised of 38 classrooms across west Tennessee. In addition, this individual will be responsible for researching, designing, configuring, and administering infrastructure and endpoint systems at the university’s main campus, five extended campuses, and satellite participants. This position reports directly to the Director of Client Services and Support.

Responsibilities:
•    Design, deploy, maintain, and lead Audiovisual projects that include physical hardware, software, and systems aspects within an enterprise environment under the direction of senior staff
•    Independently analyze and troubleshoot technical problems and incidents to provide prompt resolutions. Collaborate with higher-level staff or supervisor to find solutions to broad scope issues
•    Administration, management, and service of all computers and classroom technology on the UTM extended campuses and Distance Learning technology on the main UTM Campus
•    Administration, management, and service of Distance Learning technology for satellite participants, e.g. high school locations across west Tennessee
•    Provide consultation and training for campus departments on new technology
•    Technical service and support for OS configuration, software installations, hardware, etc.
•    Research and test new, innovative technology for computers and audio/visual technology
•    Creating service and support documentation for the ITS knowledge base
•    Provide Tier I support from time to time after significant system changes or enhancements

 



Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field and one year of relevant IT and AV experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
•    Ability to install AV and data cabling to the existing standards of the industry
•    Ability to lead and organize multiple simultaneous projects
•    Able to plan and carry out work independently and prioritize tasks
•    Able to coordinate tasks with multiple departments on campus
•    Advanced knowledge of multiple operating systems
•    Able to maintain knowledge of new industry products and services
•    Possess excellent organizational and communication skills (both oral and written)
•    Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community

Preferred Qualifications:
•    Two years of IT project management experience
•    Three years of experience and knowledge in the design, configuration, and installation of AV systems as it related to distance learning classrooms
•    Two years of experience in configuration, installation, service, and support of computers in an enterprise environment
•    Familiarity with networking/distributed computing environment concepts
•    Experience with setting up, troubleshooting, and managing Distance Learning Systems
•    Experience with Zoom room software
•    Experience with Extron hardware and software
