Irrigation Technician I

MR04 – Starting rate dependent on candidates’ qualifications and experience

Duties/Responsibilities: The Facilities Services Department is responsible for the maintenance and operations of all campus facilities, which includes buildings, grounds, and utility systems.

·        Perform preventative maintenance on all irrigation systems.

·        Perform emergency repairs to irrigation systems.

·        Seasonal start-up/ winterization

·        Help install new irrigation systems.

 

Qualifications

 

Minimum/Required Qualifications/Experience:

·        Valid Tennessee Driver’s License

·        High School Degree or equivalent

·        2+ years’ experience

·        Irrigation maintenance experience preferred.

·        The ability to learn and maintain all irrigation systems.

·        Able to perform strenuous activities and able to lift up to 50 pounds.

·        The ability to perform hard physical work for long periods in all types of weather

·        Applicant must be able to read and follow instructions, have a positive attitude, interact well with others in a team environment and follow the departmental attendance policy.

Designated personnel for emergencies: This position is required to report to work to ensure operation of essential campus functions during an emergency, or when the University has suspended or delayed operations
