ATHLETICS DEPT ASSISTANT

Working Title: Iron Dukes Annual Fund Assistant

Position Summary

Duke University is seeking a qualified candidate who will report to the Director of the Iron Dukes Annual Fund and provide assistance and support to the Athletics Development Team

Qualifications

BA/BS Degree

Knowledge, Skills, Ability

· Excellent organization skills, detail oriented

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Collegial, collaborative style

· Highly organized with the ability to prioritize multiple requests

· Good decision-making skills, tactful, good listener, willingness to search out answer, ability to recognize when others need to be involved in activities or decisions

· Creativity, curiosity, sense of humor, high energy level, and an enthusiasm for meeting and working with a wide range of individuals

· Knowledge of principles and techniques relevant to fundraising

· Understanding of individual donor needs and perceptions

Essential Functions

· Assist the Assistant Director of Athletics, Iron Dukes Annual Fund Director, and Assistant Director of the Iron Dukes Annual Fund on day to day operation of the annual fund and any projects as needed

· Serve as secondary contact for the Iron Dukes Office

· Serve as lead person for responding to incoming emails for Iron Duke email address

· Serve as lead person for the Young and Junior Iron Dukes program

· Management of reporting and data

· Assist with game days, Iron Dukes pre-game functions, Thank-a-Thon, and other special projects

· Assist with other tasks as assigned and needed

· Reports directly to the Iron Dukes Annual Fund Director

Minimum Qualifications


Education

Work requires analytical, communication and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree program.


Experience

No experience required beyond bachelor's degree.
