As our Institutional Research (IR) Analyst, you will synthesize raw data from a variety of areas, producing and communicating information to inform institutional operations and policies. You will be joining an enthusiastic, supportive team that is committed to serving students and the university community by delivering timely and relevant analysis and insight.
You will extract, analyze, visualize, and describe a range of institutional and external data for use in strategic decision-making and program evaluation. For example, the IR Analyst develops employment and other outcome information for academic programs, working with stakeholders and researchers at UAA, UAF, UAS, and the State of Alaska. You will have the flexibility to work in-person or hybrid within Alaska, and the option of formalizing an individual career development plan for professional advancement within the department.
To thrive in this role, you must be detail-orientated and adaptable with a customer service mindset. You will have experience routinely learning and applying new information and demonstrate skill in communicating complex methodologies and research findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify for this position, you must:
--have prior experience utilizing spreadsheet (i.e. Excel), data extraction (i.e. SQL), and statistical and graphical analysis (i.e. R, SAS) tools.
--hold a baccalaureate degree with an analytical focus (statistics, math, economics, or other quantitative discipline)
OR
have at least 1 year of direct experience conducting institutional, operational, or policy research.
Position Details:
This position can be located in Anchorage, Fairbanks, or Juneau and offers workplace flexibility with a fully in-office or hybrid workspace. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with a competitive salary and a comprehensive employee benefits package . UA provides a complete compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, sick leave, 12 paid holidays per year, generous tuition benefits for employee and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule , Grade 79, 80, or 81 based on education and experience.
