Summary

The Investment Office at the University of Michigan is seeking a full-time intern to join our team on-site for Summer 2024. You will refine and strengthen your skills in finance and investing, data analysis, and project management.

Who We Are

The University of Michigan Investment Office is responsible for directing and overseeing the investment of the University's $18 billion of financial reserves, which includes the 9th largest university endowment. The Investment Office staff works with many of the top investment managers globally to provide the financial resources necessary to ensure the long-term success of one of the world's great teaching and research institutions.


Responsibilities*
  • Provide support to the investment team with analysis and due diligence across the portfolio
  • Identify and develop pipeline of researchers/faculty at the university working in different thematic areas
  • Coordinate and attend meetings with groups across the university
  • Research and connect networks within the greater university community

Required Qualifications*
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree, with a demonstrated interest in accounting, finance, economics, investing, or business management
  • Conceptualize and present quantitative and qualitative information
  • Multi-task and prioritize work with the ability to work independently
  • Team-oriented
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite. Additional programming skills (e.g., R, Python, SQL) are desirable
  • Maintain strict confidentiality requirements
