The following is a job posting for an Inventory Control Planner Associate/Intermediate position at the University of Michigan Survey Research Center (SRC).

The Survey Research Center at the Institute for Social Research (ISR) is a national and international leader in interdisciplinary social science research involving the collection or analysis of data from scientific sample surveys. Survey Research Operations (SRO) is the operations branch of the SRC.

This position is part of the SRO Data Collection Operations (DCO) Group. DCO provides overall support for data collection activities related to recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and supporting interviewers who collect data by telephone or mail from the centralized telephone calling center and also in-person from decentralized locations throughout the country.

Responsible for daily order fulfillment of data collection materials such as respondent forms, biological specimen containers, physical measurement devices, etc. and office supplies such as administrative forms, return mailers, telephone headsets, etc. to more than 600 field staff. Analyzes and determines the appropriate shipping method required for each order to avoid disruption of research. Provides information to project teams on the status of current orders and the inventory of project-specific materials for future orders. Resolves questions and problems associated with order fulfilment and shipping.

Updates inventory databases to maintain records of materials and generates the billing/invoicing for materials used in daily order fulfillment. Compiles information on inventory balances and costs. Recommends changes to inventory control systems as needed.

Determines reorder points and ensures that sufficient levels of inventory are maintained. Monitors reorder points and places orders as needed to replenish stock levels. Analyzes demand and forecasts, and adjusts inventory plans accordingly. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories of data collection materials and office supplies.

Works with project teams to design and develop a project supply plan and process to meet each  project's unique needs from training support, bulk mailing, daily order fulfillment, and general data collection support though the project's production period.

Provides functional supervision of teams working on large mailings and bulk supply fulfillment. Adapts procedures, processes, and techniques for each unique bulk mailing. Serves as a resource to others in the unit for issues pertaining to shipping and supplies

High School Diploma.

0-2 years of experience in Inventory Control (IC Planner Associate).

2 or more years of experience in Inventory Control (IC Planner Intermediate).

Ability to multi-task, prioritize requests and work independently.

Strong proficiency in communication through multiple mediums.

Strong attention to detail.

Demonstrated skills in Word, Excel, Access.

Experience using Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Spreadsheets, Calendar).

Proficiency with inventory software.

Experience with ticketing system such as Footprints and TeamDynamix.

Knowledge of Wolverine Access, M-Marketsite, and University of Michigan policies and procedures.

Monday-Friday days, occasional evenings and weekends

The position may be underfilled at the associate level depending on the qualifications of the selected candidate.  The salary range for the associate level is $48,000-$50,000
