JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State Harrisburg is seeking a full-time Intramural and Club Sports Coordinator reporting to the Associate Director of Recreation and Aquatics. This position will be responsible for development, coordination, implementation, and daily operations of all aspects of the intramural sports program and club sports, including e-sports. This position assists with the coordination of athletic summer camps. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Hire, train and supervise all intramural personnel including student intramural supervisors, intramural officials, referees and student intramural employees

  • Organize and facilitate intramural captains’ meetings and officials’ clinics

  • Adhere to and enforce program rules and regulations and program specific safety policies

  • Coordinate intramural schedules and activities; be familiar with tournaments (brackets/round robins)

  • Develop marketing and advertising plan(s) for intramural programs use all types of media for communication and promotions

  • Develop and maintain website materials

  • Purchase equipment and maintain vendor contracts

  • Assist in budget development and/or provide recommendations

  • supervise daily financial operations and maintain reports

  • Manage all data and communication in IMLeagues (online intramural league registration programs) software

  • Evaluate existing and new programs

  • Coordinate club sports program and ensure policies and procedures are met with each club sport; work cooperatively with student representatives and advisors

  • Instruct CPR First Aid AED courses

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of team sports rules; excellent time-management, problem-solving, and leadership skills; effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to function independently as a member of a diverse team; CPR/AED/First Aid certification (or willingness to certify) is required. Certification as a First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor is required or must be willing to obtain certifications within 6 months of hire.  Work schedule includes evenings and weekends as necessary to meet program needs.

This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to clearances.
