Primary Purpose:
The interpreter will provide interpreting, translating services as needed for limited English proficient patients and staff throughout the hospital. The interpreter will adhere to an exemplary code of ethics at all times; to include the highest regard for patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

 

Knowledge and Skills:
Education: High school diploma or GED, college degree preferred. Must hold a certificate of completion (or be able to receive within 6 months) substantiating formal training and qualifications for medical interpreting in accordance with current professional spoken language medical interpreter community standards.
Years of Experience: 1 year experience interpreting or translating Spanish language in medical setting and medical interpreting.
Required Skills and Knowledge: Detail oriented, computer entry daily, walking in large hospital during most of the day. Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel.
