Job Description

The College of Health Solutions seeks an energetic team member to serve as the coordinator of community placements. Under general supervision, the successful candidate will provide expertise in internship functions for students enrolled in degree programs within the College of Health Solutions. The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, be resourceful, a problem solver, and have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, while balancing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Essential Duties

  • Provides administration of and coordination of program activities and services for the students in a degree program.
  • Initiates, develops and sustains strong positive relations with program coordinators/directors and department chairs to ensure achievement of the mission and goals of the department and college.
  • Liaises with program students, faculty, staff, administration, and external community partners in facilitating program objectives.
  • Maintains student records and databases; creates and provides reports.
  • Provides contact point for enrolled and prospective student information.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, professional development seminars, and as member of various college and university committees.
  • Represents program at various community and student functions.
  • Coordinates and administers student support to enrolled and prospective students, such as course registration, petitioning, withdrawals, program documentation, computer accounts, information sessions, and student onboarding.
  • Counsels and confers with students providing program procedures, policies, goals and objectives, technical guidance and problem resolution.
  • Directs students to appropriate faculty instructor for further program guidance.
  • Represents the college/department and serves on various department and university committees.
  • Hosts informational sessions, develops and facilitates workshops, meetings or conferences with high impact on program and/or participants; coordinates logistics, scheduling and participant communications. 
  • Provides assistance and information to faculty, staff and outside organizations regarding function/program.
  • Promptly responds to student, faculty and staff inquiries and information requests, and resolve concerns with a high level of service.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

  • Frequent bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds.
