ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
USF World is led by a VP and is comprised of units across Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Sarasota devoted to promoting ed abroad; intl admissions, supporting intl students and scholars, the management of intl partnerships, intl travel risk and safety services, management of the Peace Corps (PC) Prep Program and  a dedicated PC recruiter, tracking and documenting intl research collaborations and the global footprint of faculty, students and staff, collection of data related to international activities at the University, intl alumni development and outreach, and the marketing and communication of USF World programs and initiatives. Comprising a total of over 70 staff and a budget of approximately $10.3 M, clients are USF faculty developing intl academic experiences, curriculum, and research collaborations, administrators promoting the global priorities of USF, staff responsible for supporting intl activities across campuses, colleges, and other units, current and prospective students coming to USF from other countries and U.S. students seeking global experiences as well as university partners from abroad and foreign dignitaries. Community partners include local, state, national, and intl leaders of government and public and private organizations, including other institutions of higher ed, military, business, and industry.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The International Admissions Advisor III (Level 3), is responsible for undergraduate international student recruitment and admissions assistance and advising and typically reports to an Assistant or Associate Director. The International Admissions Advisor III will have duties that include supervision and greater responsibilities.  The duties are broader in scope and require specialized knowledge of recruitment policy and procedure.  This position will need to solve higher level issues that lower level advisors cannot resolve which will require discretion an judgment.   The employee is responsible for contributing to global student recruitment strategy and goals and must be able to effectively represent the University at international student recruitment events and activities at home and abroad.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages and engages in the advising of undergraduate international students applying to USF for admission as FTIC or transfer students. Advising including communication regarding USF admissions policies and procedures including application due dates and scholarship deadlines, admissions criteria, how applications are processed, the status of applications, admissions decisions, required documentation, and other essential admissions information. Advising may occur in person, over the telephone, via email/CRM. Maintains regular contact with prospects, applicants, and counselors.  Supervises a team International Admissions Advisors(s) (International Admissions Advisor I and International Admissions Advisor II).
Responsible for contributing to international student recruitment and marketing strategy and goals for a territory or geographic region. Works with the Assistant Director for International Student Recruitment to support communication projects. Analyzes data to determine marketing effectiveness on enrollment objectives for targeted populations.  Markets USF as an educational destination of choice to prospective international students, their parents and families, and other associated entities. Is able to represent the university at recruitment events and activities, including to international audiences abroad, and to conduct dynamic presentations and effectively answer questions about admission and application requirements and processes. Adhere to office-wide travel policies and standard operating procedures to ensure safety, superb time and travel management, and service.
Assists students and their families resolve complex admissions-related issues and inquiries escalated from International Admissions Advisors I and II.
Supervises the planning and implementation of welcome sessions and events for prospective international students, families, and agents including during arrival and orientation periods. Is able to provide admissions advising services for "walk-in" students and families.  Must be able to effectively represent USF at international student recruitment events and activities domestically and internationally.
Performs other duties as assigned as dictated by office needs or directed by senior team staff.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:

This position requires a bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of relevant experience in international education, international student recruitment or support, or international marketing and sales or related field.  Must have two years in a supervisory role. Work experience may not be substituted for the bachelor's degree requirement for this position.
PREFERRED:
A Master's degree with experience as an international student or study/employment in a country other than the United States.
Fluency in a language other than English.
Experience working with international students, and/or diverse populations and cultures.
Previous experience in a university or college admissions office or student affairs unit.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience recruiting international students to U.S. institutions.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
Experience working with international or multicultural populations.
