PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Ave Maria University is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Internal Marketing Communications Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in developing and executing effective internal communication strategies that support organizational goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute internal communication strategies that support organizational goals
  • Manage internal communication channels, including email, intranet, and other digital platforms
  • Collaborate with various departments to identify their communication needs and develop messaging that is clear, concise, and effective
  • Create and manage editorial calendars for internal communications
  • Write, edit, and proofread internal communications materials, including newsletters, announcements, and other content
  • Ensure that all internal communications are consistent with the university’s brand and messaging
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication efforts and make recommendations for improvement
  • Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure consistency and alignment of messaging across all communication channels
  • Maintain and update content on the university’s intranet and other digital platforms
  • Utilize email marketing software and calendaring tools to effectively manage and distribute internal communications
EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 3 years of experience in internal communications or a related field
CERTIFICATION: N/A

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Exceptional ability to work with multiple stakeholders and identify their communication needs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable using digital marketing tools such as email marketing software, calendaring tools, front-end web/content management systems
  • Familiarity with HTML and CSS preferred
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Passion for higher education and the mission of Ave Maria University
PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10 – 20 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, type and perform data entry, visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information, ability to hear in order to answer telephones and to communicate verbally, and the ability to sit for extended periods of time.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed indoors with minimal safety hazards, and requires seated, standing, and movement work.
