Position Description:

The Instructional Design team of the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning is seeking a video editor to execute professional level video editing in the creation of quality content for online students in academic courses. The video editor will consistently collaborate with the instructional design team staff and/or faculty, obtaining approvals as necessary and deliver final video projects in industry-standard formats using specified delivery methods.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Plans and performs video post-production tasks including ingesting, sorting, converting, and organizing video footage.
  • Makes editorial decisions for rough cuts, audio adjustments, color correction, and final editing using Adobe After Effects or comparable industry-standard tools.
  • Adds motion graphics, animations, stock images, B-roll, music and/or other value-add elements as needed for each video.
  • Compresses video projects for output and converts videos to other formats as required.
  • Collaborates with Instructional Design team staff and/or faculty consistently throughout each post-production process, including obtaining appropriate approvals and editing footage so video objectives are manifested.
  • Delivers final video projects in industry-standard formats needed using specified delivery methods.

This is an intermittent, project-based position with a varied weekly schedule.  This position will remain filled as needed based on business needs and work volume. This position is fully remote.  The targeted hourly wage is $72.00hr.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with higher education faculty and instructional designers in an online learning context.
  • Understands needs of online students and faculty as they pertain to video content for online courses.
  • Experience working with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects and Adobe Media Encoder or comparable industry-standard tools.
  • Ability to transform raw clips and footage into high-quality final videos used to inform, engage, and inspire students.
  • Ability to work with multi-track split audio.
  • Working knowledge of aspect ratios.
  • Experience with high-resolution file transfer applications.
  • Working knowledge of video encoding formats.
  • Great attention to detail and skill to select attention-grabbing shots.
  • Talent for sound design.
  • Talent to visualize best way to present and/or order video clips to fulfill project goals.
  • Ability to collaborate with others productively, particularly in a remote capacity.
