Dennison Theater, College of Visual & Performing Arts invites applications for three (3) part time Intermittent Event Staff (Intermittent Events and Promotion Coordinator I) to assist in delivery of Dennison Theatre security and front of house services, including ushering and concessions. This position is responsible for accepting admission ticket/pass; assisting guests in locating their seats, re-seat guests as needed; providing general information and assistance to guest; staffing the entrance and exit doors; providing security for the main doors and back stage area; helping to maintain a safe and well organized event; enforcing the policies and procedures for the Dennison Theatre; setting up and operating the concession area, may include inventory and ordering of supplies; operating cash register and credit card machine, includes cash handling; and cleaning and maintaining concession and front of house areas.

  • High School diploma and one (1) year related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Formerly known as the University Theatre, the George & Jane Dennison Theatre opened in 1935. It was the first building built on a College Campus using WPA (Work Progress Administration) funds during the Great Depression. It was originally known as the Student Union Building and the theatre was the prominent feature. In 1996 it underwent a complete renovation which allowed it to become ADA accessible and provide air conditioning resulting in a very pleasurable venue for various art events.

The College of Visual and Performing Arts serves as the flagship institution for the arts in Montana. The College offers a full complement of undergraduate and graduate degrees in art, media arts, music, theatre and dance and integrated arts and education.

Work Schedule:                 Intermittent Part-time, 0.25 FTE (10 Hours a week); 12 Months year. Work schedule is event driven, intermittent schedule consisting of evenings and weekends, and sometimes days. Position requires alternative work schedule.

Salary:                                $11.509/hr Current employee’s rate of pay for this position will be determined by the staff compensation plan, and may be different from the posted salary. For questions and details regarding the staff compensation plan, email the Compensation Department .

Probationary Period:        Six months minimum
