The Interior Design Planning position encompasses interior space planning & programming, space modification, project management, signage & way-finding, relocations and moves to effectively utilize facilities, capital dollars and capital assets. The Interior Design Planner must be proficient in communication and leadership skills, customer service, coordination of multiple projects, and regulatory compliance.
Position Summary
The Interior Design Planner participates in all aspects of OSUWMC interior facility components for capital project planning, programming, budgeting, design concepts, procurement strategy, finish & furniture guidelines, project management, vendor coordination, move planning and coordination, development of best practices, and asset management. The degree of involvement on any specific project varies, within larger project teams of Senior Planners, Sr Construction Managers, and others.
The Interior Design Planner is responsible for the development of project scopes, and the development of interior layout solutions, in collaboration with vendors and associate architects. Once established, project budgets and timelines are monitored for applicable portions of the work. The project role may include review of design documents and specifications, signage requirements, project procurement, relocation coordination, use of OSUWMC space guidelines supporting effective space utilization, and prioritization of potential interior space modifications. Coordination of relevant activities is expected with other University entities.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Req:Bach degree in Interior Space Planning, Interior Design, Architecture, Const. Design or similar or equiv edu & exp (2 yrs exp w/ space planning & design & 2 yrs exp in const.mgmt);Exp w/ REVIT & AutoCAD software & MS Excel & Word;excellent communication skills;Proj. mgmt exp
Desired:Exp w/bid specification & purchasing;knowledge of graphic/signage design principals or coordination of asset mgmt program for interior furnishings;cert./registration or affiliation;knowledge in facility ops, proj. planning & implementation & admin oversight;knowledge of regulatory codes applicable to clinical, office & research environments;exp in academic med center & research environment; exp managing interior planning processes;exp w/ PPoint, Photoshop & MS Project
