Summary

The applicant will conduct biomedical research aimed at identifying the genetic and molecular mechanisms underlying the development of heart disease. The applicant will train and/or supervise trainees and other lab members when needed. The applicant will write fellowship and grant proposals and assist the lab director with grants written for the lab. The applicant will write research and review papers related to the area of research he/she is involved in.

 

Duties:

  • Assist with the writing of scientific papers and grant/fellowship proposals. Training and supervision of other lab personnel and trainees.
  • Conduct scientific experiments using molecular, cellular, and animal models of heart disease.
  • Design experiments, conduct experiments, analyze data, perform statistical analysis, generate figures for publications and grant proposals, write scientific reports and papers, and generate slides for presentations about this work.
  • Supervision of students and other lab personnel upon the direction of the lab director. Fill out evaluation forms for students when required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in biomedical research, including biology, chemistry, physics, bioinformatics, medical science.
  • At least 3 years of post-PhD research experience.
