Description of Work Unit
The Division of Information Technology, the central IT organization for Colorado State University-Ft. Collins, supports the land-grant heritage of the institution as well as the university’s missions of teaching and learning, research, and service. The Division of IT is responsible for delivering enterprise and campus focused IT services for the Ft. Collins campus as well as throughout the CSU-System. Areas of responsibility include Research IT, Application Development and User Support Services, Academic Technology, Cybersecurity & Privacy, Networking and Telecommunications, Infrastructure and Databases, Business Intelligence and Data Integrations, Administrative Applications, and Student Applications.

Position Summary
The experienced Integrations Developer is responsible for designing, developing, documenting, and supporting custom API solutions, which includes some web development, API platform management, and solutions integration for the organization. This position is also responsible for constructing general software solutions as part of a team as well as work independently.
The successful candidate must be a team player, analytical thinker, and possess strong interpersonal skills. Must have ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, mentor when appropriate, and independently carry out assignments. Must have ability to perform analysis, problem identification, and provide solutions under limited supervision and direction.
Must be willing to undertake occasional travel and participate in professional and technical development. This position may be eligible for fully remote work pending University approval. Work outside normal business hours may be required on occasion.
The position is part of the Enterprise Integration Services team within the Business Intelligence and Data Integrations unit.
Required Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 3 or more years of application development utilizing object-oriented programming language(s).
  • 3 or more years of application development experience with enterprise level DBMS. E.g. Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or similar.
  • Experience with revision control tools such as git, RCS.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the time of hiring into this position. The Division of IT will not provide VISA sponsorship for this position.
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related.
  • Proficient with:
    • Web technologies, including HTML, JSON, CSS, JavaScript, and Node.js
    • Working in Visual Studio or other common IDE platforms
    • API development and usage including REST, SOAP, and GraphQL
    • DevOps methodologies and tooling; Ansible, GitLab, and Jenkins
    • Message Queue technologies; RabbitMQ, JMS, Kafka
    • Linux, shell scripting, Perl, Python
  • Experience with iPaaS/low-code development environments (Boomi, MuleSoft)
  • Prior experience with software change management and production turnover processes.
  • Application development experience with Enterprise Systems. E.g., Ellucian Banner Student Information System, Kuali Financial Management, Oracle E-Business Suite, or similar.
  • Prior professional IT experience in a Higher Education environment.
  • Understanding of project management concepts and processes, including waterfall and agile approaches.

Works with internal and external staff to support and maintain applications, including problem identification and resolution.
 
Test and debug application software independently. Conducts module level testing to ensure accurate results and optimal performance. Creates documentation in accordance with established guidelines and practices.
