Overview:  

The Integrated Operations Support Division (IOSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) is seeking qualified applications for the position of Integrated Services Group Lead. The IS manager will lead Facility and Operations’ (F&O) efforts to implement ORNL’s space management program, provide agile tools and information systems, and support F&O’s drafting and engineering systems teams. 

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Provide direct line management of the Space Management team, the Information Systems team, and the Drafting and Engineering Systems team.
  • Support development and implementation of the space management program.
  • Support F&O’s drafting and design team to include F&O’s configuration management program.
  • Support continuous improvement of F&O software tools and integrated systems including, but not limited to, asset management, work requests, and facility monitoring.
  • Coordinate and lead customer-centric projects for F&O systems, drafting and design efforts, and space management, including but not limited to project specification, plan development, and customer communication interfaces. Examples include development of improved customer interface with a work order system, efficient parking density monitoring and tracking, and space moves and planning.
  • Support continuous improvement of F&O’s internal and external customer support functions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners:
    • Maintenance teams, front-line supervisors, and programming teams to deliver easy-to-use, right-size software solutions to assist with field work.
    • ORNL’s space counsel, maintenance, and renovation teams to execute ORNL’s space management program.
    • System engineers and complex facility managers for drafting and documentation in support of F&O’s configuration management program.
  • Collaborate with IOSD’s leadership team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and optimization.
  • Provide mentoring and career growth opportunities to group members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a science, engineering, or technical-related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience leading technical projects or teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industry certifications, including but not limited to:
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Previous information and asset management systems experience.
  • General knowledge and field experience with asset management databases and work order systems.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to present ideas, findings, and recommendations in a logical, concise manner.

Special Requirements:

Work involves various physical requirements and working conditions. As such, a pre-hire physical will be required after an offer is made.

 

Q clearance:  This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. As such, this position is a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require passing a pre-placement drug test and participation in an ongoing random drug testing program.
