The Department of Agricultural Biology is committed to excellence in the creation and dissemination of knowledge about insects, plant pathogens, and weeds in agricultural, natural, and urban ecosystems. Our mission is to enhance human well-being by improving ecosystem sustainability. In addition to generating new knowledge, we apply knowledge in entomology, plant pathology, and plant sciences to solving practical problems related to biotic and abiotic plant stress, integrated pest management, and ecosystem health. Position Summary
Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program Manager will support the mission of the Colorado Center for Sustainable Pest Management and manage IPM implementation activities in Colorado. The position will assist in management of the Center and the IPM program by providing logistical support and coordinating Center planning meetings and activities, creating content for and maintaining the Center website, collecting data to illustrate the impact of the Center activities, and assist in grant writing and publications. This position will also lead a social media campaign focused on promoting IPM and assist in diagnostics training. The position will also lead independent research projects and extension programming and participate in undergraduate and graduate student mentorship to support the Center mission. The person in this position will also be responsible for research and extension project management.
Required Job Qualifications
Final hire at RAIII or RAIV level commensurate with combined professional experience and educational degree level.
RAIII:
  • Research Associate II + 5 years experience or B.A. /B.S. degree + 5 years related experience or Master’s degree + 2 years experience or Ph.D.
  • Degree(s) in applied biological science or highly related fields

RAIV:
  • Research Associate III + 3 years experience or B.A. /B.S. degree + 10 years related experience or Master’s degree + more than 5 years experience or Ph.D. + 2 years related experience
  • Degree(s) in applied biological science or highly related fields

AND:
  • Experience in Extension/program management
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully carrying out independent projects manifested in publication record commensurate with experience
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and communicating reports to academic and public audiences
  • Effective written communication skills
  • Mastery of all Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated experience with statistical software and ability to use it to analyze data
Preferred Job Qualifications
  • Advanced degree(s) in applied biological sciences
  • Postgraduate degree in entomology
  • Demonstrated experience in IPM program development
  • Experience in program management
  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing
  • Demonstrated experience in organizing meetings
  • Pesticide applicator license or willingness to obtain it upon employment
