Job Summary
REMOTE WORK OPPORTUNITY.  This is a full time position responsible for a variety of accounting duties related to medical billing functions. The assigned duties include analysis and proper application of payments.  The incumbent may review accounts to aid in refunds or account reconciliation. Responsibilities
  • Reconciliation of electronic payment and statements from Non-Electronic and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) insurance companies.
  • Research and obtain necessary documentation from various organizations through mail, phone, e-mail, or fax to complete manual payment posting process of paper checks, and denials; in addition to reconciliation accuracy within established deadlines of accounts receivables through billing system.
  • Organize and prioritize work to ensure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Act as a resource for sharing knowledge and information within the organization by communicating trends and potential process improvements.
  • Meet productivity and accuracy expectations of the position.
  • Overtime may be required.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Two years of accounting or medical insurance claim experience; a basic understanding of debits and credits, word processing, spreadsheet, and ten-key by touch skills, strong analytical skills, and effective verbal and written communication and human relation skills required. Familiarity with commercial or government billing requirements and knowledge of insurance, coding, and medical terminology is preferred.

    Preferences
  • Knowledge of medical industry, insurance billing, explanation of benefits, CPT codes and medical terminology. 
  • Treasury and banking experience with electronic payments and credit card processing.
  • Customer Service experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and mathematical abilities
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office required.
  • The ability to be resourceful to gather information to resolve accounts.
  • The qualified individual should have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn new duties and work together with our existing staff as a productive member of our team.
