Instrumental Accompanist

Job Description:

Musicians in this position accompany students, on an as needed basis, in lessons, rehearsals, studio classes, recitals, recording projects and juries.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare repertoire for successful collaboration with students

  • Clearly communicate availability

  • Reserve spaces, as needed, for rehearsals with students in preparation for upcoming performances.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must have strong piano skills and pianistic facility

  • Must have good reading skills

  • Must have the desire to collaborate

  • Preferred to have some familiarity with, and interest in, the repertoire

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Experience in the repertoire of at least one instrumental family

  • Ability to be artistically responsive to the student performer
