Description of Work Unit | The Department of Biology at Colorado State University (CSU) is one of eight departments in the College of Natural Sciences. The Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, as well as excellence in research. The Department of Biology has an international reputation for excellence in research across a broad array of disciplines, including cell and molecular biology, physiology of plants or animals, animal behavior, ecology, evolutionary biology and computational/theoretical biology. PhD graduates receive world-class training, participate in cutting-edge and often interdisciplinary research projects, and are employed at all levels of academia and industry around the globe. Position Summary | The Department of Biology seeks applications from individuals who are interested in temporary teaching assignments for undergraduate and graduate courses. The open positions will be non-tenure track assignments. The major commitment will be teaching undergraduate or graduate courses. In general, the instructor is expected to interact with other members of the department including faculty, staff and students, enriching and enhancing student education offered by the Department of Biology at Colorado State University. Annual terms and reappointment may depend on performance and/or the continued availability of funding. Required Job Qualifications | An MS degree in an appropriate discipline is required. Applicant must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.A. by the proposed start date. The Department of Biology will not sponsor a visa for hires from this pool. |
Preferred Job Qualifications | A Ph.D. degree in an appropriate discipline is strongly preferred. |
Special Instructions to Applicants | The pool will expire 11/30/2021. Individuals wishing to be considered beyond this date must reapply. The open pool positions are available for people to apply for one year. If/when the department decides to hire an instructor, they may choose to hire from the candidates in this open pool. More job-specific information will be available at that time. Should review of your qualifications result in a decision to pursue your candidacy, you will be contacted. Please submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a 1-page teaching statement, and at least 3 professional references. References will not be contacted without the prior notification of candidates.
