The School of Psychological Science invites applications for multiple, full-time (1.00 FTE), 9-month, fixed-term, Instructor, Senior Instructor I, or Senior Instructor II position. Reappointment is at the discretion of the School Head.
This position is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 9-month, fixed term, non-tenure track instructor appointment and the position will have the option to work remotely. Expected duties include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, mentoring undergraduate students, and providing appropriate service that contributes to the effectiveness of the School, College, and the University, and the profession.
The School of Psychological Science resides in the College of Liberal Arts. The primary mission of the OSU School of Psychological Science is undergraduate and graduate education and research. School offers BA and BS degrees, an undergraduate minor, and a Ph.D.

Minimum Qualifications (Staff) / Guidelines (Faculty):

Typically requires Master's degree in discipline appropriate to the field of teaching/instructional tasks.

Requirements :


Instructor Rank:
  • Psy. D., Ed.D., or Ph.D. in any subfield of Psychology or related field
  • Evidence of effective college teaching
  • Demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity in college teaching, consistent with the OSU Faculty Handbook https://facultyaffairs.oregonstate.edu/faculty-handbook/promotion-and-tenure-guidelines#criteria

Senior Instructor I Rank:
  • All of the requirements at the Instructor Rank
  • Evidence of at least 4 years of college-university-level exceptional college teaching experience.
  • Evidence of skills in any of the following areas of need in the unit: inclusive teaching; teaching undergraduate Research Methods and Quantitative Skills in Psychology, Psychology Careers, Social Psychology, Human Development, I/O Psychology, Health Psychology, and courses relate do difference, power, and oppression such as Race and Racism, Psychology of Trauma, Resilience and Oppression, Psychology of Disability; effective teaching asynchronous online classes; asynchronous course design

Senior Instructor II Rank:
  • All of the requirements at the Instructor Rank and Senior Instructor I Rank
  • Evidence of at least 8 years of a sustained record of exceptional achievement in college teaching.
  • Evidence of at least 4 years of college-university-level professional growth and innovation in college teaching or teaching-related service.

Type:

  • Typical office environment with option to work remotely.
  • Faculty may elect to teach 11 courses per year at 99% teaching and 1% service, which is negotiated at the time of hire.
