Job Summary:

The University of Colorado’s Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine, located at the Anschutz Medical Campus, is an internationally renowned program that provides comprehensive resources for the diagnosis and therapy of diseases of the digestive tract, pancreas and liver.  The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology has faculty and staff making contributions to research, clinical trials, and nationally recognized patient care.  Gastroenterology & GI Surgery is one of the top ranked in the United States and our clinical partner, the University of Colorado Hospital, and is in the top hospitals nationwide as ranked by U.S. News and World Report. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is rapidly growing, with clinical practices throughout the state of Colorado and over 80 researchers, physicians and staff, all working toward its vision to prevent and treat disease while being a global model for patient care delivery, interdisciplinary research, and training.

The successful applicant will have experience in the field of gastrointestinal biology and an interested in developing a federally sponsored NIH portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical responsibilities will include working at the AMC campus and affiliate campuses (ie. DHHA) in the Gastroenterology clinics
  • Research responsibilities include building and maintaining an independent research program in basic and/or translational studies of mucosal innate immunity, training of graduate students and post- doctoral investigators, as well as to develop interactions with investigators within the research environment in the newly developed GI and Liver Innate Immune Programs (GALIIP) on the Anschutz Medical Campus at the University of Colorado
  • Demonstrate the vision and potential or ability to interact with basic scientists and clinicians to foster translational research programs.
  • Building interdisciplinary programs through interactions across the many basic and clinical departments within the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:  

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • A board-eligible medical degree (MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
  • Fellowship training in Gastroenterology
  • Record of scholarship, teaching, and service sufficient to be appointed as an associate professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Research experience with gastroenterology, colitis, fibrosis or closely related field
  • Demonstrated success in obtaining research funding
  • Published expertise in mucosal innate immunity, inflammatory bowel disease, colitis, fibrosis or closely related field

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$59,000 to $62,000

The above salary range (or hiring range ) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
