Applications are invited for an Instructor/Research faculty position in the Department of Cellular and Integrative Physiology (CIP), Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long School of Medicine, at UT Health San Antonio. We seek applicants interested and experienced in teaching physiology for dental, medical, health professions, and/or graduate students. The ideal applicants will have formal coursework and experience teaching physiology to dental, medical, or health professional students so that they can immediately become active participants in physiology courses. The Department has a rich history of teaching and research excellence and innovation. The primary educational responsibilities will include contributing to high-quality physiology instruction, including incorporating modern digital technology, course preparation and administration, delivery, assessment, and working collaboratively with other faculty teaching physiology. Teaching formats include large-group lectures and small-group active learning. Experience with clinical case-based, team-based, and self-directed active learning pedagogy is preferred. The successful applicant will participate in scholarship and departmental, university, and external service activities to enhance their career development as a full faculty member. Faculty members have the opportunity to mentor graduate students or medical students. Research in CIP encompasses undergraduate medical education best practices and innovative tools, cancer biology, aging, neuroscience, and stem cell biology.
