Job Description:

POSITION:
The Department of Social Sciences seeks a full-time Instructor of Political Science to begin work in August 2024. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Faculty holding this position will teach multiple sections of PS 1113 American Federal Government. Other courses may be offered and/or developed based on faculty training and program needs. An ability to teach Constitutional Law, or Judicial Process would be a plus. Faculty are expected to develop and offer courses in multiple formats, including distance learning (Zoom), online, and face to face, and to work well with concurrent high school students. The usual course load is 12 hours each fall and spring semester. Summer teaching assignments may be requested but are not required. Cameron University instructors are required to advise students, serve on departmental and university committees, perform public and professional service, assist with program and department assessment, and support student organizations and events. Other duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's Degree in Political Science or related field with evidence of significant teaching promise and demonstrated excellence interacting with students.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
:
Three years teaching experience in higher education, a proven record of teaching excellence in multiple class formats, and demonstrated achievement in curricular and course design and student advisement. Sufficient expertise to teach upper division courses in Political Science would be considered advantageous.
Expertise in online teaching and Quality Matters would be a plus.
