Description

 

The Department of Physics and Energy Science in the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences (LAS)  is seeking a half time, non-tenure track instructor position to teach in person with a possibility of teaching online starting August 2021. The department offers Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD degrees, and has active research programs in several areas of theoretical and experimental physics. The position requires teaching primarily at the undergraduate level (in person and online), and in some cases, mentoring undergraduate students or teaching graduate classes, and providing service for the department, university, and community. Since this is a primarily teaching position, preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience and an outstanding teaching record. We are looking for an energetic and engaging candidate with the ability to lecture well at all levels and motivate students.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Salary: Generally starting at $22,875

Qualifications

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Master's Degree in Physics 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience

  • An outstanding teaching record

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
