Instructor, Paramedicine Lab and Simulation Coordinator

Creighton University is seeking to hire a Paramedicine Instructor & Lab and Simulation Coordinator.

This role delivers programming to paramedicine students in lab, simulation and ensures continuity within didactic curriculum among all levels of paramedicine coursework. The coordinator will be responsible for teaching and coordinating credit and non-credit lab and simulation needs within the department, including but not limited to preparing and submitting materials to the university registrar for course scheduling, class schedules, and working with peers to ensure accreditation, course and graduation requirements of all students are met.  Reporting to the PMC Program Director, the coordinator will work to advance simulation and lab education and lead other faculty to utilizing best practices to deliver seamless and innovative curriculum. Will teach in the program and provide direction to how simulation and lab intersects with paramedicine curriculum both in person and online.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach in person and online courses within the department, including lab and simulation instruction.
  • Direct and coordinate simulation and lab experiences within the department of paramedicine, including daily administrative support of the lab/simulation schedules, knowledge of course requirements, and liaison with didactic PMC instructors to coordinate a seamless curriculum.  Lead and provide education/training to peers in lab and simulation best practices. In conjunction with the Nursing Simulation Coordinator and Director of Simulation for Werner, utilize simulation space and enhance innovative opportunities for the benefit of students. 
  • Participate in college and department service and scholarship activities.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, in process or desire to begin within 6 months of hire. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of paramedic experience required.
  • 1+ years of experience as a simulation coordinator or educator with certification.
  • Key responsibilities include a team approach of overall coordination and supervision of simulation and lab coordination in conjunction with nursing and the Werner Center.
  • Strong background in scheduling, coordination and collaborative education models.
  • Organizational skills and experience with best practices, certification within simulation technology.
  • Commitment to teaching excellence and willingness to engage and participate in the scholarly advancement of paramedicine science while maintaining an active participation in university, community and professional organizations.

 

Certifications

  • Paramedic Licensure or eligibility
  • Certification in simulation required
