Posting Text | The Department of Mathematics at the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology invites applications for an Instructor or Lecturer for the Summer 2024 semester. This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited position. The position may continue semester-by-semester, dependent upon performance, department need, funding, and student enrollment. The applicant is sought to teach an online asynchronous section of Calculus 1 to an audience of undergraduate students majoring in various STEM disciplines. An earned Masters degree in Mathematics or a closely related field and excellent communication and English skills, both verbal and written, are required. Experience with online courses and the Desire2Learn learning management system are desired. The department offers a B.S. degree in Mathematics along with specializations in Actuarial Science and Data Science, and minors in Mathematics and Computational Statistics. Faculty members are actively involved in a variety of interdisciplinary research and service activities across the campus.
