Position Summary

The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education at the University of Southern Indiana (USI) invites applications for a renewable, 9-month instructor or non-tenure track contract assistant professor of Kinesiology and Sport. The position starts fall 2024.

Duties/Responsibilities 

The undergraduate and graduate (Master’s) Sport Management Programs at USI are COSMA (Commission on Sport Management Accreditation) accredited. Duties include teaching courses in the undergraduate and master courses (if qualified), serving on departmental, college, and university committees, and advising of students. Courses include, but not limited to, concepts of wellness and fitness, principles of recreation, public recreational sports administration, sport coaching, and sport finance and economics.

Required Knowledge and Skills

Master’s degree in sport management, recreation, leisure studies, or closely related field is required. To qualify for the contract assistant professor position, candidates must have a doctoral degree in sport management or a closely related field. ABD may be considered at the rank of Instructor if a doctoral degree is not conferred by hire date.
