Position Summary:

The Department of Physics at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for one full-time, 9 month, renewable non-tenure-track instructor position, starting in August 2023.

The successful candidate will be responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university and will be responsible for teaching, service, and related activities.  This position will require teaching PSC 2121-- Physical Science; PHY 2048 – General Physics 1; PHY 2049 – General Physics 2, PHY 2053 - College Physics 1, PHY 2054 - College Physics 2 and other courses needed at the Chair’s discretion.

We seek candidates who have experience in teaching large classes, coordinating multi-section courses and overseeing instructional labs, or who have experience in teaching online classes and in working with online tutoring and assessment programs. We seek candidates who through their teaching, and/or service can contribute to the diversity and academic excellence of our department, and who are committed to working with diverse faculty, students, staff, and the broader community.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must possess an earned doctorate in physics or a related discipline at the time of application required. Candidates should demonstrate skills in understanding cultural differences and be able to foster and create educational opportunities where all student populations thrive.
