MAJOR DUTIES

  • The position reports directly to the Dean of the School of Science, Math, and Engineering. The instructor will teach 15 load hours per semester of chemistry courses including laboratories.
  • Responsibilities include developing and revising instructional materials using the Canvas LMS; understanding and following OSHA safety guidelines for handling chemicals in a college laboratory; holding a minimum of 5 office hours per week; maintaining and reporting student grades; assisting in recommending and orienting part-time faculty; engaging in professional development; organizing and maintaining program curricula; advising chemistry students; and serving on college councils and committees.
  • Day and evening classes can be expected. Instruction will primarily be face-to-face with instruction at the Main Campus and at satellite campuses.


Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Chemistry is required.
  • Access to home internet, a personal computer, and a telephone is required.
  • Demonstrate skill and willingness to learn and use multiple technology platforms to communicate with students.
