Position Description


Advertised Job Summary
Applications are invited for a full time, instructor position starting in August 2022.  The candidate’s duties will be to offer introductory biology classes to biology majors and to non-majors in support of our nursing program.  The successful candidate must have a commitment to undergraduate teaching and help recruit and mentor students in our developing retention initiatives.  This position is a 9-month appointment, salary is commensurate with qualifications.
The University of South Carolina Beaufort (www.uscb.edu) is located in South Carolina’s coastal islands, close to Hilton Head Island, Charleston, and Savannah, Georgia.  USCB has degrees in Biology with specialties in biomedical sciences, coastal ecology, and marine biology, along with a robust Nursing program.  Biology is one of the largest degree programs at USCB. The university currently has three campuses which serve a diverse student body of about 2000 students: The Beaufort campus, located on the Intracoastal Waterway in downtown Beaufort, and the Bluffton campus in Bluffton, S.C. where Natural Sciences and several other academic departments are headquartered, and the Hilton Head Island Campus, home to USCB’s Hospitality Management and OLLI program. All campuses are located in Beaufort County.

Required Education and Experience
Candidates must have minimum of an earned Master’s in Biology, additional training is a plus.
