Essential Responsibilities:

  • Will provide 15 load hours of instruction each fall and spring semester with primary teaching load in general biology, including associated laboratory courses.
  • Responsibilities will include assessment, service on various college and department committees, maintenance of student hours, participating in professional development, and other duties as assigned by the Dean.
  • Development of program and general education curriculum, syllabi, and other materials related to the biology program. Utilizing the Canvas LMS
  • Supervise adjunct instructors, as needed.
  • Instructor may be assigned day and evening classes, as well as classes at our satellite centers (located within 15 miles of the main campus).

Qualifications:

  • A Master’s Degree in Biology, or an associated field, with at least 18 graduate hours in biology related content, is required.
  • Experience with interactive instructional methods is highly desired.
  • The successful candidate will value diversity and have a multicultural perspective with adult/minority students; and have a high energy level along with a strong commitment to the community college philosophy.
