Instructor (non-tenure track) in Mathematics - Department of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics and Statistics (2 positions)

Case Western Reserve University Department of Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics is seeking qualified candidates to fill two faculty positions at the rank of Instructor to begin in Fall 2024. This is a non-tenure track position, and the majority of time will be spent on teaching and service.

Responsibilities and Duties

Teach two (2) large lecture courses/sections per semester in the Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics Department at the 100- or 200-level. Work with other instructors to coordinate courses at the 100- or 200-level. Mentor and oversee lecturers, post-docs, and graduate students who are assigned to teach 100- and 200-level classes. Work with the departments serviced by these classes to ensure the topics covered are appropriate. Advise undergraduates as needed with their program of study. Serve on some of the committees in the department.

Minimum Qualifications

All candidates should hold a PhD in Mathematics or a related field by the time of the appointment. Candidates should have several years’ experience teaching 100- and 200-level math undergraduate courses at the university level. Candidates should be committed to working with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students. Excellent communication and organizational skills are necessary. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
