Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

• Masters degree in mathematics or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in mathematics.
• 2+ years experience teaching mathematics courses, preferably at the college level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Functional competency with the Canvas LMS, and other related educational technology tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a team-oriented environment.
• Dedication to student-centered learning and academic excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

• PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field.
• 5+ years of teaching experience at the college level, with a record of effective instruction and student engagement.
• Evidence of scholarly activity such as research publications, conference presentations, or grant funding.
• Demonstrated experience with innovative teaching methods, technology integration, and curriculum development.

Summary of Duties:
The full-time Math Faculty Member at COTC will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in various mathematics courses, fostering student success, and contributing to the academic environment of the Mathematics Department and the Division of Arts & Sciences. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in mathematics, effective teaching methodologies, and a track record of scholarly activity. Additionally, they will collaborate with colleagues, participate in departmental activities, and engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and learning.
The full-time faculty member will:

Teach a variety of mathematics courses, including co-requisite, college-level, and College Credit Plus (dual enrollment), based on departmental needs.

Develop and revise course materials, assessments, and instructional strategies to enhance student learning outcomes.

Provide academic advising and support services to students, including course selection, degree planning, and career guidance.

Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and other institutional initiatives to support the mission and goals of the Mathematics Department and the college.

Maintain regular office hours and availability to students for academic assistance and consultation.

Collaborate with colleagues to assess student learning, evaluate program effectiveness, and implement continuous improvement measures.

Stay current with developments in the field of mathematics, pedagogy, and educational technology through professional development activities and scholarly pursuits.

Engage in scholarly activities, such as research, publication, and conference presentations, to contribute to the academic discipline and professional development.

Support the colleges commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by fostering a respectful and inclusive learning environment for all students.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department chair or academic administration.
