Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
- Masters degree in mathematics or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
- Demonstrated proficiency and expertise in mathematics.
- 2+ years experience teaching mathematics courses, preferably at the college level.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Functional competency with the Canvas LMS, and other related educational technology tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a team-oriented environment.
- Dedication to student-centered learning and academic excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field.
- 5+ years of teaching experience at the college level, with a record of effective instruction and student engagement.
- Evidence of scholarly activity such as research publications, conference presentations, or grant funding.
- Demonstrated experience with innovative teaching methods, technology integration, and curriculum development.
Summary of Duties:
The full-time Math Faculty Member at COTC will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in various mathematics courses, fostering student success, and contributing to the academic environment of the Mathematics Department and the Division of Arts & Sciences. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in mathematics, effective teaching methodologies, and a track record of scholarly activity. Additionally, they will collaborate with colleagues, participate in departmental activities, and engage in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching and learning.
