Instructor - Film Studies (temporary)

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts in the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences (LAS) invites applications for temporary half-time Instructor position in Film Studies , a major track in the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. Candidate should be a generalist in international film history, arts, and industry.

The position is responsible for teaching various courses for the Department of Visual & Performing Arts-Film; however, exact courses taught will depend on need at the time of hire. The courses may be in person or online.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer:

Salary: Generally starting at $20,750 - $21,115 at 50% time (0.50 FTE)

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Minimum Qualifications:

• MA degree in Film or related field. 

• One year experience teaching Film Studies in Higher Education. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in instruction of survey courses, American cinema and genre studies.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
