Position Responsibilities


Position Summary
This instructor in operations and supply chain management will teach a seven-course load (21 credits) in operations and supply chain management at the undergraduate level. The faculty member will demonstrate expertise in operations and supply chain management with the ability to deliver high-quality and innovative courses in both traditional classroom, hybrid, and online environments. We seek an instructor who will teach courses such as project management, enterprise quality management, enterprise planning and scheduling, and systems and simulations. Other business courses may be taught as needed. Additionally, the faculty member will play a vital role in advising students, demonstrating a commitment to their academic and professional development. Active involvement in both outreach and extension activities to foster connections with professional organizations and the business community is expected, as well as service and leadership contributions to the department, college, and university.

Contingency Description
This faculty appointment is contingent on funding and/or work to support the position. Employee acknowledges and agrees that in the event of insufficient funding and/or work, as determined by University in its sole discretion, University may: (1) change this Agreement by adjusting the employee’s FTE and annual salary throughout the contract year; or (2) terminate this Agreement and employee’s employment prior to the end of the term of appointment, upon 60 days written notice. Employee further acknowledges and agrees that in the event termination for insufficient funding and/or work becomes necessary, the notice provisions of Faculty Staff Handbook 3900B will not apply.

Qualifications


Minimum Education/Degree Required Listed degree qualification is required at time of application.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in operations management, supply chain, business administration, business analytics, statistics, information technology, or a master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience with practices and processes in line with current private industry standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD, Executive PhD, or DBA in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Decision Sciences, Information Systems, Business, or a closely related field.
  • Experience developing a variety of teaching methods (online, hybrid, and face-to-face).
  • Experience teaching in a variety of business disciplines, such as:
    • project management
    • enterprise quality management
    • enterprise planning and scheduling
    • systems and simulations
    • other general business courses
  • Experiential learning and team teaching experience.
  • Ability to transfer classroom knowledge and skills to the workforce.
  • Experience working with industry professionals and companies integrating their business challenges into class scenarios or projects.
  • Experience teaching at an AACSB-accredited college.
  • Excellent teaching evaluations.
