Job Description
The English department at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi invites applications for a renewable contract, 9-month non-tenure track instructor appointment beginning in Fall 2024.
Teaching assignments will consist primarily of first-year writing courses. Teaching schedule may involve face to face, blended, and online course delivery.
Expectations include:
Teaching five courses in each regular semester
Attending department, college, and university faculty meetings, as well as graduation ceremonies in the Fall or Spring
Participating in first year writing curriculum development
Participating in departmental governance
Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in English, Rhetoric and Composition, Technical Communication, or a related field in hand at the time of appointment from a regionally accredited institution
Experience teaching college-level writing
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated evidence of culturally responsive pedagogy, especially in the context of a regional university designated as a Hispanic-Serving Institution
Experience teaching and advising first-generation students and historically underserved communities
Demonstrated evidence of an ability to teach in a range of modalities (face to face, asynchronous online, hybrid, synchronous online)
