Position: Electrical Construction Systems Technology Instructor
Location: Athens Campus
Department: Division of Business, Industry, & Technology
Reports to: Divisional Academic Dean
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, instruct students in Electrical Construction Systems Technology skill areas.
- Follow state standards in developing program and course outlines, goals, and objectives.
- Develops syllabi to meet program and school objectives.
- Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
- Requests and maintains supplies and equipment, and prepares required budget requests.
- Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
- Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports.
- Attends staff development training, workshops, seminars and conferences.
- Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training area.
- Responds in a timely manner to administrative requests.
- Meets with students, staff members and other educators to discuss students’ instructional programs and other issues impacting the progress of the students.
- Assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
- Maintains program certification requirements, as appropriate.
- Demonstrates strong time management and organization skills.
- Demonstrates effective written and oral communication.
- Contributes to the writing of accreditation and assessment reports
- Demonstrates general computer knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel)
- Assists with student recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Electrical Construction Systems Technology or a related field from an accredited college or technical institution.
- Three (3) years’ work experience in a position related to Electrical Construction Systems Technology.
- Must be credentialed to satisfy all appropriate accrediting bodies for the courses assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or technical institution.
- Three (3) years’ work experience within the last seven (7) years in a position related to Electrical Construction Systems Technology.
- Ability to be credentialed to teach Industrial Systems Technology courses.
- Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary environment.
- Previous online teaching or training experience, including the use of video capture tools.
