Position Summary
The University of Southern Indiana is accepting applications for Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor of Respiratory Therapy and Director of Clinical Education.
The University of Southern Indiana seeks applications for a full-time, 12-month Instructor/Clinical Assistant Professor/Assistant Professor of Respiratory Therapy and Director of Clinical Education (DCE) of Respiratory Therapy.
Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: curriculum/course education development; teaching courses in the BSRT program; working with our clinical setting partners; engaging in scholarship activities (e.g., peer-reviewed publications and professional presentations) related to the discipline; engaging in service activities at the university, professional and community levels; participation at the national and state level in professional organizations and activities; contribution to community well-being through service related to professional and other expertise; and supporting the mission of the College of Nursing and Health Professions.
Required Knowledge and Skills
To qualify for the Clinical Assistant Professor or Assistant Professor position, the candidate must have a Master's Degree. Applicants considered at the rank of instructor must have the Master's degree awarded by January 1, 2025. The candidate must:
1. Hold a valid Registered Respiratory Therapy (RRT) credential and current Indiana state license.
2. Have a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory care.
3. Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience teaching, either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs.
